The River Safari in Singapore is a unique wildlife park. Along with a river, the safari park has a zoo as well as an aquarium. Located between the Singapore Zoo and Singapore Night Safari, this park offers several freshwater attractions as well as river boat rides.
As it is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (which also manages the Night Safari, Singapore Zoo and Jurong Bird Park, you would find several zones in this park too. The Singapore River Safari is divided into several ecosystems including Mississippi, River Nile, Tundra, Amazon, Yangtze River, etc. Moreover, it is also home to around 5000 animals from 300 (mostly endangered) species. Some of the animals that you would find here are giant pandas, golden pheasants, anacondas, electric eels, West Indian manatees, Chinese alligators, giant otters, red pandas, etc.
The Amazon River Quest is one of the highlights of the River Safari. Here, you would get to see around 30 wildlife species belonging to the Amazon River. Also, the 15 minutes river safari cruise on the Upper Seletar Reservoir is exciting and worth every penny.
The Singapore River Safari was pricey, but it never made us regret our decision. The fun and experience it offered made out investment all worth. Though as not big as the Singapore Zoo and Singapore Night Safari, the River Safari makes it good with its amazing exhibits. Each of the four ecosystem zones has its own features with native animals. The boat ride offered was interesting. But I found the giant pandas zone very attractive. Overall, the experience was fun.
The park has different river ecosystems of the world. What made exploring it enjoyable was the cooperation meted out by our tour guide. The highlight of the River Safari was the panda exhibit. For couples and families, the park is good site to explore in leisure.
